Paint versus laminates in interiors offers a much wider selection and more variability of colors. When laminate is damaged it's a major undertaking to repair a bag bin door. The door has to be completely stripped. You may do more damage than it's worth than just replace the door. Whereas paint you can go in -- fill, fair it, sand it, and retouch it up, re-paint it.
