A Touch of Colour
Paint is an important element of cabin finishings, providing protective, durable and aesthetic solutions for outstanding design. Even with coloured plastic and composite options for airline cabins, there are plenty of areas to use paint, such as overhead bins, tray tables, around the seats, and in the galleys, lavatories and cockpit. The biggest advantage of using paint over coloured plastic for high-wear areas is the easy touch-up capabilities. Sherwin-Williams offers a selection of effect coatings that enhance an airline’s appearance, such as JetFlex Elite, which adds more sophistication and accent to premium cabins. These two-stage white coatings change colour as ambient lighting varies – appearing from golden to blue as light level increases. Jet Suede, another effect coating, provides a leathery, suede-like feel, which is an excellent solution for airline cabins or business jets.
