Throughout my 32 year career I've been involved in formulation of high solids epoxies CUI coatings and testing of products for the oil and gas industry. As a longtime NACE member I've been an active member of committees on offshore corrosion standards and the development of CUI test standards. Recent trends in the industry gravitate towards anti corrisive and high heat resistant coating systems. GFX: Transportation, Storage, & Operations These solutions ensure product integrity during the transportation, storage, and operational phases. The challenge customers in oil and gas and power projects are facing is that the procurement of bulk valves mostly takes place from multiple locations before being transported to site and so material engineers coating specifies and paint manufacturers are acutely aware of the selection of the wrong coating system can lead to mechanical damages. This often means corrosion during transportation and storage and costly onsite coating repairs at EPC contractors expense. GFX: Commercial Liability/Cost There is also potential for operators to incur both commercial liability and unexpected substantial costs to their budgets.
