I'm Michael Harrison Global Product Director for linings at Sherwin-Williams protective and marine. I've dedicated my 30 year career in the industry to research and development and market support for high performance internal linings. My focus on corrosion protection and product purity has ranged from oil and gas, power, water and wastewater to mining rail and chemical processing. GFX: High-performance internal linings Some of the key trends we've been monitoring in the industry include increasing temperature and wider chemical resistance as the market changes to hotter crudes and biofuels. Ease of application and fast cure times now go hand-in-hand as key requirements from the customer. Working with both customers and innovative technology providers Sherwin-Williams has been at the forefront for developing next generation linings. GFX: Broader Chemical Resistance These linings are built in resistance to higher process temperatures and increased biofuel resistance. GFX: Ease and speed of application Similarly, the drive for efficiency means that simple inspection continues to be a driver for the applicators in our market. Another end user demand we've been seeing is longer inspection intervals. GFX: Simplified inspection process Here as well, Sherwin-Williams has been actively working with customers to feed performance data back into research and development to improve next generation lining capabilities.
