ANDOVER, KANSAS (August 1, 2025) – Sherwin-Williams Aerospace Coatings has now received four AMS (Aerospace Material Specification) 3095B qualifications for its complete line of chrome-free systems for aircraft exterior coatings.

These latest qualifications demonstrate that these coatings systems, and all their component products, meet the demanding industry standards for performance, durability and safety, and are available for all types of general, military/defense, and commercial aircraft.

The AMS 3095 certification is targeted to the commercial aerospace MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Overall) market, signifying suitability of these coatings for use in maintaining and repairing commercial aircraft.

The four complete chrome-free systems all utilize Sherwin-Williams products:

  • CM0220P01 Jet Prep™ Pretreatment system, providing advanced adhesion and corrosion protection

  • Two new generation chrome-free primers - CM0483800 and CM0483810 - Highest corrosion resistance for a chrome free primer the company has offered.

  • Options for its two premium topcoat products - single stage, Jet Glo Express® Polyester Urethane; and basecoat-clearcoat, 850 Series SKYscapes®, a high-performance polyurethane basecoat

The approval of four new aerospace qualifications is a proud achievement that underscores our commitment to innovation, performance, and sustainability, These qualifications highlight three major advantages: our custom-formulated chrome-free pretreatment, Jet Prep™, which delivers outstanding corrosion resistance without compromising environmental standards; our next-generation chrome-free epoxy primers, which are one of the industry’s leaders in protective performance; and the availability of these technologies in our premium topcoat systems—both single-stage and basecoat-clearcoat—offering customers greater flexibility and finish quality. With these innovations and confirmed qualifications, Sherwin-Williams continues to set the standard for advanced aerospace coatings that meet the evolving demands of the industry.
