When GTI Energy expanded from Buffalo, New York to a new 630,000 square foot facility in Goodyear, Arizona, they faced a critical challenge: scaling production without sacrificing quality, profitability, efficiency or compliance.
Challenges included:
- Throughput targets increased from 5,000 to 8,000 units annually
- Liquid paint processes slowed production with multi-step applications and long cure times
- Stringent corrosion requirements and performance specification
- Trouble meeting Arizona’s strict VOC regulations

A Faster, Smarter Coating System
GTI reached out to Sherwin-Williams early in the project seeking a solution designed for speed, simplicity and performance.

- Introduced OneCure™ dust-on-dust powder coating system, enabling primer and topcoat to be applied consecutively and cured together in a single bake cycle, reducing cure times and streamlining application
- Paired OneCure Super Durable topcoat with a zinc-rich epoxy primer to boost corrosion protection and durability
- Provided hands-on training, taking GTI from zero powder experience to production in days
