3M Wood Machine Kit 966UZ contains five wide sanding belts in different grades, ranging from P80F to P180F. Each kit has belts of varying lengths and widths. The kit provides an efficient and economical solution for multi-step projects. It's also a great solution for testing various grades and uncovering the ideal grade for a substrate or application.

The belts in 3M™ Wood Machine Kit 966UZ are engineered using a proprietary 3M™ Ceramic Abrasive Grain. These belts feature an F-weight paper backing for effective sanding and finishing on flat surfaces in woodworking applications. Operators can choose from a few different dimensions (listed as width x length): 44" x 85", 44" x 75", 52" x 103".

F-weight is one of the heaviest, most rigid paper backings available and typically produce finer finishes than cloth backed belts of the same grade and mineral type. The paper backing provides smooth operation and durability. On the abrasive side, the ceramic abrasive surpasses conventional abrasives in high production environments for its aggressive cut, greater heat resistance, and extremely long life.

The belts in this kit also feature 3M™ dust management technology, reducing static in the dust particles and allowing dust to be pulled away more easily. To support desired finishing results, the belt ends are joined using a sine wave splice that promotes belt strength and resists hinging and splice fatigue. The splice travels smoothly over contact wheels and platens, minimizes chatter marks, and promotes smooth operation for consistent finishing results. P-graded abrasive grains in 3M™ Wood Machine belts are screened to a finer tolerance than non-P-graded abrasives and produce a more uniform surface finish.

The belts in 3M™ Wood Machine Kit 966UZ feature 3M™ Ceramic Abrasive Grain. This abrasive exceeds conventional abrasives in durability, life, and cut rate. 3M™ Ceramic Abrasive Grain is a ceramic mineral formed using a proprietary process to enhance toughness and hardness of the grain. It is chemically engineered with a unique "stay sharp" crystalline structure, which continually self-sharpens cutting edges on the surface of the belt, ensuring extended high performance in heavy-duty production applications.
