FIRETEX® M90/02

High-Performance Fire and Corrosion Protection

An Epoxy Intumescent Coating Providing Durable Passive Hydrocarbon Jet Fire Protection with FIRETEX® M90/02

FIRETEX M90/02 provides up to four hours of fire protection while providing a corrosion-resistant protective coating for the design life of the asset. With low spray applied density, reduced film build requirements, and high-performance properties, FIRETEX M90/02 is highly recommended for LNG plants, refineries, chemical processing plants, and offshore structures against hydrocarbon and jet fire. It also provides fire protection and cryogenic spill protection when used in conjunction with FIRETEX M89/02.

FIRETEX M90/02 has a low density and low jet fire thickness requirements making it ideal for offshore platforms for durable fire and corrosion protection. FIRETEX M90/02 is fully tested and certified to global industry standards to effectively mitigate damaging impacts caused from fire and explosion.

FIRETEX® M90/02 Fire Protection Coating offers:

  • Anticorrosive coating suitable for harsh environments
  • UL 1709 certified for up to four hours of protection
  • BLEVE
  • Cryogenic spill protection
  • Global Fire testing: Pool fire (BS476-20&21, ISO834-3) Jet fire (ISO22899-1)

Recommended Uses

FIRETEX® M90/02 is a two-component epoxy coating used to enhance the fire resistance of structural materials by providing a layer of insulation, which is formed as a result of a chemical reaction initiated by fire. This insulation reduces the rate of heat transfer and extends the time period for which the structural material can resist the weakening effects of the heat. Typical uses for FIRETEX M90/02 include:

  • Onshore facilities
  • Offshore structures
  • Refineries
  • Chemical plants
  • LNG terminals
  • Columns, beams, and bracing
  • Pipe racks
  • Support structures: skirts, legs and saddles
  • Vessels, tanks, spheres, and spheroids
  • Marine docks
  • Modular units
