Creating a Rub Stone for Cove

After installing your cove base, use any unused material to create a perfect rub stone. 

While wearing your PPE, form a mound in a cupped hand and pack it down allowing it to mold to the shape of your cupped hand. Since it is made from the same material as the cove base, you don’t have to worry about damaging your cove when sanding it. 

Once everything is properly cured, use your rub stone to sand down any rough areas until you have a perfectly smooth cove base. Any fine white lines from sanding will disappear once you add a coating. Remember to clean up any dust from sanding before moving on.
