GFX: Sherwin-Williams Kevin Morris Global market director, infrastructure, Sherwin-Williams Protective & Marine
Hi I'm Kevin Morris, global market director for infrastructure including bridge and highway, steel fabrication, and water wastewater. I've been serving Sherwin-Williams protective coatings customers for 26 years. I'm a NACE certified coatings inspector and an SSPC certified concrete coatings inspector also served as an instructor for us SSPC's concrete coatings inspection courses and I'm actively involved in the steel tank Institute as the vice chair of fill direct to tank section. Let me share some thoughts with you about trends we're seeing in the infrastructure segments.
GFX: Bridge and Highway
The bridge and highway industry continues to rely heavily on public funding. Though it is slowly shifting to P3 projects to support new builds. While owners desire to have longer lifecycle performance out of their applied coating systems, they're reluctant to become early adopters of technology, despite these needs.
GFX: Steel Fabrication
The steel fabrication segment is becoming the new frontier in the transportation area. The industry relies more heavily on private funding for structural steel and fabricated steel components and industry certifications and approvals drive acceptance for projects. Owner's desire coating systems that reduce total investment value without sacrificing lifecycle performance.
GFX: Water & Wastewater
In water and wastewater, communities expect their governments to provide safe drinking water and sanitary disposal of waste. But due to lack of public funding, the industry has heightened its focus on asset management and lifecycle performance and rehabilitation versus replacement.

Water scarcity is driving the large diameter transmission pipe projects and greater film thickness is gaining importance due to the increasing corrosive city of the waste stream. Thank you.
