00:00:43:12 - 00:00:46:09
Andrew Duffy, Sherwin-Williams Business
Development Manager for Ireland, Northern
00:00:46:09 - 00:00:49:09
Ireland and Scotland and we're here today
at Kilbride Classic Cuisine.
00:00:49:23 - 00:00:54:21
Our company's Kilbride Classic Cuisine,
we’re a considerable manufacturer
00:00:54:21 - 00:00:57:21
of food and ready
meal products in the Irish industry.
00:00:58:05 - 00:00:59:23
We've been around for
00:00:59:23 - 00:01:04:07
30 years now at this stage,
we employ like 100 people.
00:01:04:20 - 00:01:07:17
And part of this project is to consolidate
00:01:07:17 - 00:01:10:17
all our businesses
and put them into one brand new factory.
00:01:11:04 - 00:01:15:02
When Jimmy first approached us last year,
we decided to come and take a site visit.
00:01:15:04 - 00:01:18:14
We saw the obstacles at hand
in terms of exposures to
00:01:18:15 - 00:01:22:15
hot temperatures,
low temperatures, traffic.
00:01:22:23 - 00:01:26:18
So we decided, okay, we have a lot of
different resin technologies in Bolton
00:01:26:18 - 00:01:30:18
whether it's Epoxy, Polyurethanes,
Methyl Methacrylates, Polyaspartics.
00:01:31:03 - 00:01:33:16
We actually decided to go with the PU
(Polyurethane) cement technology,
00:01:33:16 - 00:01:37:07
which is a market leading technology
throughout the world.
00:01:37:07 - 00:01:40:16
PU cement
technology, can go down
00:01:40:16 - 00:01:43:16
to -40°C or up to 120°C.
00:01:43:19 - 00:01:47:13
So it takes a lot of abuse
in terms of longevity of a floor.
00:01:47:23 - 00:01:48:24
It's a hygienic floor.
00:01:48:24 - 00:01:50:01
It's seamless.
00:01:50:01 - 00:01:52:20
So it's not a habitat
where bacteria can survive.
00:01:52:20 - 00:01:55:14
As you can see,
there's a lot of different colour options.
00:01:55:14 - 00:01:58:04
Jimmy and his team actually decided to run
with different colour
00:01:58:04 - 00:02:01:17
schemes in different areas for mindfulness
and for program reasons.
00:02:02:20 - 00:02:03:22
Throughout the whole project
00:02:03:22 - 00:02:07:01
we actually decided
to bring in one of our specialist
00:02:07:01 - 00:02:11:11
flooring contractors
who are familiar with these resins.
00:02:11:20 - 00:02:13:21
So when they go
in, they can install these resins
00:02:13:21 - 00:02:18:00
and know what to do in terms of
preparation, application and curing times.
00:02:18:09 - 00:02:21:01
There's a lot of new concrete
and old concrete here,
00:02:21:01 - 00:02:22:16
with drains involved as well.
00:02:22:16 - 00:02:26:12
We had to work around the whole program
of the main contractor’s
00:02:26:12 - 00:02:27:15
side of things as well.
00:02:27:15 - 00:02:30:06
Resin floors
normally go in at the end.
00:02:30:06 - 00:02:33:19
So when all the concrete was actually in,
the guys went in and prepped the floor.
00:02:34:02 - 00:02:37:02
They cut anchor grooves
into certain locations.
00:02:37:02 - 00:02:40:10
Anchor grooves are there to grab
the PU cement because it's so strong.
00:02:40:17 - 00:02:43:17
So the anchor grooves are in,
we put in the PU cement,
00:02:44:09 - 00:02:47:02
and it's normally cured within 1 to 3 days
depending on
00:02:47:02 - 00:02:48:03
temperatures and the environment.
00:02:48:03 - 00:02:51:10
So it was a very,
very easy transition from start to finish.
00:02:51:18 - 00:02:53:13
We actually brought in a resin
flooring contractor
00:02:53:13 - 00:02:56:05
who could offer Jimmy
a wall-to-floor package,
00:02:56:05 - 00:02:59:08
which means there was a lot
less turbulence within the project.
00:03:01:14 - 00:03:02:16
We used a specialist
00:03:02:16 - 00:03:05:16
contractor
who was familiar with the process.
00:03:05:16 - 00:03:10:08
The guy was very helpful
and knowledgeable in terms of,
00:03:10:08 - 00:03:15:15
laying out floor slopes into our drains.
00:03:16:11 - 00:03:24:23
And he was also able to do
part of the PVC project around the area.
00:03:24:23 - 00:03:27:19
They highly recommended the product.
00:03:27:19 - 00:03:31:08
We did do site visits
to look at the product in other places.
00:03:31:08 - 00:03:33:04
We were very impressed with it.
00:03:33:04 - 00:03:37:10
And so far anybody who has come
in, has been impressed with the flooring.
00:03:38:07 - 00:03:43:13
So the product at hand in this project
was FasTop® Multi TG69.
00:03:43:13 - 00:03:47:21
FasTop Multi TG69 is a fast curing,
high performance,
00:03:47:21 - 00:03:52:09
seamless polyurethane cement screed
that goes from 6 to 9mm.
00:03:52:09 - 00:03:56:13
With the FasTop, it's a one stop shop
and these sort of floors can last anywhere
00:03:56:13 - 00:03:58:06
from ten years to fifty years,
00:03:58:06 - 00:04:01:23
based on the environment
and the quality of the maintenance.
00:04:02:17 - 00:04:06:24
At Sherwin-Williams Bolton,
we provide a service to all our customers,
00:04:06:24 - 00:04:10:20
clients, asset owners
in terms of specification consultancy.
00:04:11:04 - 00:04:14:19
We'll give asset owners like Jimmy
contact information for specialists
00:04:14:19 - 00:04:19:12
flooring contractors who can execute
these floors to the highest quality
00:04:19:16 - 00:04:22:17
to make sure the customer
is actually getting what they paid for.
00:04:23:06 - 00:04:25:23
So for any support
needs, we're very approachable.
00:04:25:23 - 00:04:30:08
We also have the PDM team,
which also specifies steel coatings,
00:04:31:05 - 00:04:34:01
from the start of projects
and then finish off with resin floorings.
