From the Show Floor at KBIS

Our industrial wood color material and finish expert, Eric Crosby, recently attended KBIS and reported back on the top themes he saw.

Natural Themes Continue to Shine

Natural browns will continue to be an important color for the interior of the home. Warm earth tones, muted pinks and mauves with brownish undertones will continue having a major moment.

Green kitchens have been trending for a while, but will still be relevant in the future. Colors like Sherwin-Williams’ Evergreen Fog have a soothing, outdoor likeness, working especially well with natural wood finishes in the kitchen and creating a calming aesthetic.

Texture and Detailing Thrive

The latest in texture trends features ribbed or fluted detailing which can fill a kitchen with personality. Glossy or matte, ridged or embossed kitchen surfaces will be doing a lot of heavy lifting in the next few years, bringing texture to rooms that benefit from a point of contrast. It’s a trend you can utilize even with white and neutral colors – an important feature in rooms that makes neutral spaces feel more interesting.
