Pipeclad® 5000 Flex
Exterior Pipeline Epoxy for Low-Temperature Service Conditions
Reliable Corrosion Protection for Demanding Field Conditions
Reliable corrosion protection and efficient application are essential to preserving long-term pipeline integrity. Pipeclad 5000 Flex is an ultra-high-solids, amine-cured epoxy phenolic novolac coating engineered to protect buried pipelines, underground utilities, valves and associated equipment in demanding field conditions.
The coating provides strong resistance to impact, abrasion, chemical exposure and cathodic disbondment when used with cathodic protection systems. Its excellent adhesion to prepared steel and fusion-bonded epoxy-coated pipe, combined with flexible application methods and fast drying times, supports new installations, field joints, repairs and pipeline rehabilitation.
Pipeclad 5000 Flex offers:
- Excellent cathodic disbondment resistance in ambient- and elevated-temperature service
- Outstanding resistance to impact, abrasion and chemical exposure
- Fast drying times that help increase application throughput
- Excellent adhesion to prepared steel and fusion-bonded epoxy-coated pipe
- Brush, broad-knife and spray application options
- High-build application up to 45 mils wet in one pass
- Flexibility at temperatures as low as -22°F (-30°C) when applied directly to metal
- Meets CAN/CSA-Z245.30 requirements for field-applied external pipeline coatings
