CLEVELAND (July 24, 2024) Sherwin-Williams Protective & Marine Coatings is pleased to announce its sponsorship of the upcoming Advanced Manufacturing Facility Construction Summit. The Company subject matter experts will discuss how to address key challenges encountered during the megaproject construction process, as well as highlight the critical role of high-performance resinous flooring systems for electric vehicle (EV) battery gigafactories.

Advanced manufacturing facilities, particularly those involved in EV battery production, require highly specialized environments to ensure product quality and safety. This includes specialized flooring systems that address chemical resistance, slip resistance, moisture vapor tolerance and more. Providing controlled conditions that minimize the risks of contaminants and thermal runway is critical to ensuring gigafactory worker safety and operational reliability.

“Manufacturing facilities, such as EV battery gigafactories, need to withstand high traffic, heavy machinery, and regular wear and tear,” said Vikki Young, Global Group Leader for Industrial Flooring Research and Development at Sherwin-Williams Protective & Marine Coatings. “EV battery manufacturing facilities, in particular, process a variety of harsh chemicals and house electrical components that have additional production complexity. At Sherwin-Williams, we are committed to finding the right high-performance flooring systems to meet the unique requirements of our customers’ advanced manufacturing facility.”
