[GFX: Firetex. M90/03 The first lifesaving step: Hydrocarbon passive fire protection]
Troy [00:00:12] Hi, I'm Troy Marshall, the Fire Segment Director for the Americas.
Johnny [00:00:15] And I'm Johnny Pourciau, market segment director for U.S. and Canada.
Troy [00:00:19] So, Johnny, what are some of the challenges in the oil and gas industry as it pertains to fireproofing and MRO?
[GFX: Protect people and assets]
Johnny [00:00:24] You know, really, these are challenging environments, right? They're harsh, they're aggressive. Protecting lives is of the utmost importance, but also protecting the assets of the owners because we had to take the assets or becomes very costly.
Troy [00:00:36] Life safety solutions, corrosion protection.
[GFX: Reduce downtime]
Johnny [00:00:40] You know, right now, downtime matters. All these owners are running on operational excellence guidelines and goals. So the less downtime we have, the better off we are. So I know the M90/03 is an epoxy. What does that mean for our customers?
Troy [00:00:52] Because it's epoxy, not only does it provide the fire protection required for UL1709 certification, but it also provides the corrosion protection that still will need inside these facilities.
Johnny [00:01:05] So it's two in one, then.
Troy [00:01:06] Yep, two in one.
Johnny [00:01:07] Good because the corrosion protection matters. Right? Other materials, you can't see the corrosion taking place, it's an epoxy it's gonna protect it. We can see it, we can repair it quickly. It provides added protection and the service life... The longevity and design life is gonna be much greater with the epoxies.
Troy [00:01:22] Absolutely. You know, to address downtime, the ease of application with the M90/03, the ability to apply with single leg or towel applied so effectively on those block out areas inside the facilities for MRO. One of the keys is the ability to apply this low temperature and lower pressure than some of the other products used on the market. The mesh that's used for the UL1709 certification is really easy to use. They're very happy about that.
Johnny [00:01:52] Sounds exciting. Tell me a bit more about that an how we're gonna utilize that mesh?
Troy [00:01:55] It's a heat treated mesh, so it gives it a really higher performance. But more so importantly, the ease of application, the ability to work with it, cut it to size. These guys are out in the field, in the shop, and it's really gonna speed up production.
Johnny [00:02:10] So, Troy, we have a long track record with this product for fire protection in Europe. Tell me a little bit about the investment we're making to bring it here to North America.
[GFX: R&D and product investments]
Troy [00:02:17] Yeah, you know, Johnny. We have been making some investments in R&D, testing our products to the UL1709 certifications, we're moving production here to the states to move our M90/03 closer to our customers. It's a tremendous opportunity for our contractors to speed up their production and improve their quality.
Johnny [00:02:35] That's good to hear.
