Henry Van Offelen [00:00:16] This is a new brewery to Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. We really wanted to have flooring in the production area that was durable and that we needed to put down once and weren't going to have to worry about it again.

Tyler Hawkins [00:00:29] The floor is very important to my day to day job.

Tyler Day [00:00:33] I reached out to Henry, the owner, scheduled a facility visit, walked the whole floor.

Henry Van Offelen [00:00:38] We worked with our local Sherwin team and we found a product that would work for that.
Tyler Day [00:00:43] We need a coating that was thermal shock and also USDA approved. The materials we used was our FasTop. SL 45, that is the thermal shock coating. After that, we'll put our T100 topcoat on there.
Ben Bergman [00:00:55] We installed a resonance cove followed up by installing a quarter inch urethane cement.
Phillip Smith [00:01:01] I know Henry has seen a lot of breweries and the coatings did not look very good.
Henry Van Offelen [00:01:08] We asked around to other brewing facilities, and one of the big issues in breweries is people end up, after four or five years, re-doing their floor.
Phillip Smith [00:01:16] It all tied together with Tyler, talking with Henry, and showing the benefits of a urethane cement in a brewery.

Phillip Smith [00:01:27] It has been in production for think a little over a month and the floor looks great.
Tyler Hawkins [00:01:31] Yeah the floor has been amazing. We've put it through the test. Hasn't chipped, been very watchable. It's been great.
Henry Van Offelen [00:01:35] It's a great working floor. We've used it now for over a month. The floor behind the bar has worked out great also and looks great. We used the quartz product that met the standards.
Phillip Smith [00:01:45] This is the deco quartz floor. It's an eighth inch system meeting all regulations, making it very cleanable, sanitary, and hygienic.

Henry Van Offelen [00:01:53] If we were going to air on durability and something we didn't have to worry about for ten years versus in three years, like we hear stories. Investing a little bit more upfront in a quality product is something that clearly we wanted to do.
Phillip Smith [00:02:05] I would expect a floor like this, in this environment, to last probably about ten years. I think this floor looks great.

Henry Van Offelen [00:02:11] The reputation of this product, the FasTop product is really good and we get lots of recommendations from other brewers that I wish I had that done that the first time.
