Jazan Refinery and IGCC Power Plant
Sherwin-Williams Heat-Flex Hi-Temp™ insulation across the board
Heat-Flex Hi-Temp 1200 as specified by Saudi Aramco under APCS 11C was supplied to various EPC’S and subcontractors for the high temperature (above 450°C) insulated pipework on the Jazan combined refinery and IGCC power plant project.
A refinery with an associated marine terminal has been built in Jazan, a remote Red Sea city in southwest Saudi Arabia. The refinery has a capacity to produce 400,000 barrels of oil a day. The project has multiple vacuum distillation units and crude distillation units, flare towers, storage tanks, pipelines and an oil export terminal on the Red Sea. The facility is configured to handle heavy and sweet crudes and there is potential to integrate petrochemical and power elements. The product slate includes two grades of petrol, fuel oil, liquid petroleum gas (LPG) and bitumen.
The plant will feed energy into the national energy grid, but will also supply energy for the Jazan refinery, the port and the IGCC power plant. The plant will also include a sulphur recovery unit and a fuel gas de-sulphurisation unit.
