Acrolon 7700

The topcoat

Acrolon 7700 is the latest addition to the series of Acrolon 7000 acrylic polyurethane topcoats. Used in high performance protective coating systems over Macropoxy® and Zinc-Clad® primers, Acrolon 7700 is the most reliable topcoat for meeting atmospheric corrosion protection specifications in terms of durability and aesthetics, even in the harshest environments. Designed to suit multiple end uses and application conditions, Acrolon 7700 helps to reduce the overall time per job by up to 50% compared with standard polyurethane coating solutions.

Macropoxy 2600

The intermediate layer

Sherwin-Williams’ Macropoxy 2600 is an innovative high solids, epoxy intermediate coating solution for use in multi-layer systems in corrosive environments. Formulated to be an optimum intermediate solution and meet the highest performance criteria while offering superior application, it also helps reduce costs right across the value chain.

Macropoxy 2600 comes with conventional pigmentation, or pigmented with micaceous iron oxide for enhanced overcoating properties and excellent barrier protection – especially on sharp edges, corners and welds. Specifiers, contractors and applicators looking to exceed the highest productivity expectations while improving efficiency and quality should also note the low levels of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC).

Product Highlights

  • Excellent corrosion resistance as part of certified systems according to ISO 12944-6:2018 up to CX on steel for two- or three-coat systems, and Norsok M501 System 1 as part of a primed system.
  • The high film build and wide Dry Film Thickness range 100 – 250 µm allows for a reduction in the number of coats and simplifies specifications
  • VOC is 174 g/L to meet stringent VOC requirements, even when thinned
  • 82% +/-3% volume solids
  • Optimised at low temperature for site applications up to -5°C

Macropoxy 4600

The primer

Formulated to be the optimum primer solution and meet the highest performance criteria while offering superior application, it also helps reduce costs right across the value chain. Specifiers, contractors and applicators looking to exceed the highest productivity expectations while improving efficiency and quality should also note the low levels of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC).
