Meat Industry Processing Facility Uses FasTop™ TG69 To Meet Demands For Heavy Duty Flooring
The facility required an upgrade and FasTop TG69 provided a flooring system that would be suitable for a food environment.
Challenge
A tough seamless flooring was needed to withstand food production processes and to be resistant to a daily washdown which would involve a power hose using hot water.
The client gave a brief on this project that the floor finish would have to provide a long term cleanable solution, be laid to a slight fall in the floor and be able to incorporate the drainage channels situated in the substrate.
The system also required high levels of anti slip performance as the floor surface would at times be constantly wet due to the facilities cleaning regime and production procedures.
Solution
The solution was FasTop TG69, which is a polyurethane screed system that has a long life expectancy (10 years plus). It also can be laid to falls and can easily incorporate the existing drainage channels. FasTop also provides a surface with high levels of proven anti-slip performance that is suitable for both dry and wet conditions, as certified using the HRRL Pendulum test for slip resistance. Another important factor in choosing FasTop TG69 is that it has been classed as a food safe product by Campden BRI and HACCP International. This certification confirms the suitability of the product for food facilities and means that the system could be installed around and adjacent to existing production areas in other parts of the factory, keeping costly shutdowns to a minimum.
The result was a floor system that was delivered on time and on budget. It provides a working environment in which production staff can work safely for many years to come.
