El Dorado Hills Fire Station
Fire stations are an integral part of a community, and the El Dorado Hills Fire Station renovation further connects the structure to the city’s residents. Calpo, Hom and Dong Architects designed the new fire station building to reflect its surroundings and become a welcoming environment for those who pass by. The architecture firm worked with Metal Sales to supply metal roof and wall panels, coated in the Sherwin-Williams Fluropon® colors Champagne Metallic and Old Zinc Grey. The metal panels help to create a gable roof style, which reflects the residential aesthetic in the area. The public can further interact with the station through an exterior space that has a picnic table, drinking fountain and dog fountain for pedestrians, runners and cyclists. The thought-out details of the 10,600 square-foot space transformed a fire station into a central point in the community.
