Wichita State University
Partnership Building 3, the latest addition to Wichita State University’s Innovation Campus, has become a magnet for technical and R&D breakthroughs. With companies like Airbus and NetApp incubating new ideas on the site, it was the perfect opportunity for an innovative building design highlighting the versatility of metal wall panels.
GLMV Architecture chose products from the Petersen PAC-CLAD line for the project. Specifically, Partnership Building 3 called for 12,000 square feet of panels all treated in a refined Silver Fluropon® finish from Sherwin-Williams Coil Coatings. Fluropon® was also applied in Matte Black to an additional 8,500 square feet of flat sheet surrounding the window areas of each structure.
Metal panels are a common theme among the other buildings on campus which made them a natural choice for the design of this modern education center. By incorporating three different panel profiles into one cohesive design, GLMV Architecture created a plan that allowed this new structure to mesh with the other buildings on campus while still having its own unique aesthetic.
